humor is art

Because these both highlight serious societal issues...making Bertolt Brecht* proud.

Two of SNL's best fauxmmercials in a while: Mom Jeans and Homocil.

*"Art is not a mirror with which to reflect reality, but a hammer with which to shape it." - Bertolt Brecht, 1898 - 1956

Nothing like a dose of Mom Jeans and Homocil for the soul. What's this about Anna Wintour looking thin? Did KR go see the Proenza Schouler show? I'm in love with one of Anna's editor-at-large Hamish Bowles. He's devastatingly handsome.

The AW thin thing came up as KR was talking about recent contacts with her.

We only went to the PS private opening for their Target line, but the boys were right there when we arrived (hence the photo). Wasn't at all impressed with what they'd done, though I support the desire to force actual fashion onto the masses if they won't do so themselves.

Teach us, Proenza. America needs a leader.

And Hamish is darling, ya.

Suffice to say PS did it to subsidize their costly flagship label. But, poo, if they're going to put their name on it they shouldn't disappoint their core fans. I think you can still be creative utilizing mass manufacturing process, though a bit harder to get your message across through all the layers of corporate structure. P & S look so peppy and adorable in your photo. I also like Marc Jacobs.

Also, I think Bertold could be the reincarnation of Christine de Pizan.

OR they just think alike, about hammers, and women, and art.
